THE EMPTY BRIEF
In a post that contains no plot, a writer harvests only instructions, turning a vacant prompt into a meta meditation on storytelling's limits.
Was this a prompt or a dead end?

There was no story to retell, just a post titled "s and third-person summaries." and a body that read like an instruction sheet.
The source didn't describe a breakup, a scam, a fight, or any other event. Instead, it told a writer what to do: "Write a tight research brief for a writer: retell the story in order, list 3 to 6 key beats, and pull any exact quotes. Plain text."
That was it. No characters. No scene. No timeline. No outcome.
The only other text in the post was another quoted line: "s and third-person summaries."
So the "research" itself became the whole story: a request for a brief, with nothing underneath it. There were no facts to reconstruct beyond the fact that no story content was provided.
