At 8:44 a.m., with checkout still more than two hours away, a motel guest was staring at a problem that had already turned awkward: a girl they met on Tinder was still in the room and, apparently, not planning to leave quickly.
The poster laid it out in plain terms: "8:44 am check out is 11 am," they wrote, asking whether they would "get in trouble" if they checked out while she was still there. The situation got messier by the minute when the poster added that the woman had not mentioned until that morning that she was "semi homeless."
That detail changed the shape of the whole morning. In an edit, the poster said they had one of her bags in their car and had a plan: "I have a bag that belongs to her in my car at 9:30 I will be going out getting it bringing it back to the room and checking out afterwards." The room, the car, the bag, the clock, everything was now tied to a narrow window before checkout.
Then came the update. The poster said they had notified staff. Shortly after, they reported a new rule from the motel side: there was a "20$ cover charge from the 100$ deposit if she doesn't leave on time." That meant the woman's staying past checkout could cost part of the money held by the property.
The poster did not wait around to see how that would play out. They said they blocked her number and left: "Blocked her number and gtfo!" The final note was just as blunt. "No more debit cards for this type of business will be getting a credit card soon !"
What started as a simple check-out time question had turned into a scramble over a motel room, a forgotten bag, a deposit charge, and a sudden cutoff by text. By the end, the poster was gone, the number was blocked, and the motel had been notified that the room was no longer in play.
