Fresh out of college, with a work-from-home job only a few months old, the poster just closed on a first home in Central Indiana, and the biggest question was whether the deal would actually make it to the finish line.
It did. But not without a nerve-wracking stretch at the end.
The poster says the last few days before closing were the most stressful part. Until yesterday around noon, there was "just radio silence" on final approval. Then, at last, it came through. After that, everything started falling into place for closing today.
The poster credits this subreddit for helping get there. The posts, the comment threads, and the habit of cross-referencing information "really made a difference," they wrote, adding that they probably would not have felt confident heading into closing without it. The community, in their telling, helped turn a process full of uncertainty into one they could actually navigate.
By the time the papers were signed, the moment still hadn't quite landed. The poster said it doesn't feel real yet, the kind of feeling that comes when a long-anticipated milestone finally arrives, but your brain is still catching up.
Still, the message was unmistakably upbeat. "I did it!" the title announced, and in the body the poster thanked everyone who had chimed in along the way.
