The pumpkin pie was gone when she opened the fridge, and the roommate was standing there eating the last of it.

The poster, a 27-year-old woman, had been living with her 25-year-old roommate before the roommate got pregnant by her boyfriend. After that, the boyfriend moved in too. At first, it wasn't a major issue. He was quiet, the poster says, and the roommate didn't really bother her.

Then the pregnancy got farther along, and the roommate, in the poster's words, became "more entitled and rude."

The biggest problem was food. The roommate kept stealing the poster's groceries and meals, and whenever she was confronted, she leaned on what the poster called "the pregnancy cravings card." The excuse worked often enough that the behavior kept going.

Then came the pie.

The poster says she brought home a small personal pumpkin pie, wrote her name on the box, and put it in the fridge. Later, she walked back in and found the roommate at the fridge, "literally eating the whole thing."

She snapped.

The poster yelled at her and asked why she was eating her pumpkin pie. The roommate's answer was immediate: she said she was pregnant and couldn't help that "the baby was craving pumpkin pie."

That was the line that pushed it over the edge. In anger, the poster fired back, "I don't give one fuck about your dumb ass, baby."

The roommate started crying and ran off to tell her boyfriend. He later came after the poster, calling her a bitch for yelling at a pregnant woman who couldn't control her craving.

The poster's headline version of the clash was blunt: "AITAH for saying I don't give a fuck about my roommates baby."

What started as a manageable living arrangement had turned into a kitchen battle over labeled food, pregnancy excuses, and a pie eaten straight from the fridge.
