A woman recounts a first night fling that turns cold as her partner's silence and indifference expose the gap between charm and basic respect.
Was that just awkward, or was she used?

She thought the night had gone well, until the man who had just slept with her for the first time rolled away, grabbed his phone, and acted like the evening was over.
The poster had been dating a new guy for about a month. He seemed kind, "a gentleman," and had told her he liked her. He even praised her in a way that sounded thoughtful at the time: "pretty but most of all I'm a kind person with a good heart, which is most important above anything." They texted and spoke on the phone every day.
Then came Thursday. She went to his side of the city, where they got cocktails, watched a band, and went back to his apartment.
What happened next, by her own account, was good. She said their first time together was "very good, passionate... we both enjoyed it."
Then the mood changed fast.
Right after sex, he said it was good, got off her, and went to the kitchen to check his phone. He watched football highlights, typed for a while, and then sat on the sofa. When he came back to the room, he said nothing, plugged in his phone, set his alarm for 7 a.m., and told her: "You can stay if you want but just so you know I'll be up at 7am I want to go to the gym. Night."
After that, he went straight to sleep without facing her.
The next morning wasn't warmer. He said good morning back, but he did not touch her or really look at her. He got out of bed right away, changed, and didn't make conversation while she booked her Uber. She later said she felt like she had "served my purpose the night before and was no longer nessessary."
He walked her out and said bye.
Then came the silence she noticed most: no follow-up text, no "did you get home okay?", no "I had a good night."
She sat with that for more than two days. Then, finally, he texted: "Recovered yet?"
She didn't reply. She also said she did not want to see him again.
Her friend told her he was probably just busy and said she was overreacting. But the poster said the whole thing left her feeling used, not because she expected something huge, but because she expected the basics.
"I wasn't expecting a marriage proposal after sex !" she wrote. "Just basic eye contact, conversation and maybe a hug."
