Faith poured an entire bottle of vodka into a water bottle, then ended the night in a medical tent.
At a music festival last weekend, a poster went with friends Faith, 24, and two others. While the poster was in the shower, Faith took one of the vodka bottles the poster had bought and dumped it into a water bottle to drink on the walk over. The other friends immediately said that sounded like too much for four people, especially for such a short walk, and told her to pour some back.
When the poster got out of the shower, Faith explained that she had filled the water bottle with vodka for the group to share. The poster also said it might be too much. Faith brushed that off, saying it was fine and that she'd finish whatever the group didn't. But before anyone had even finished getting ready, Faith decided she wanted to leave early.
The rest of the group told her to wait so they could go together. Faith kept pushing anyway, and eventually they gave up and told her to text updates so they'd know she was safe. As she headed out, Faith grabbed the water bottle. The poster stopped her and said she should probably dump some back into the vodka bottle if she was going alone. Faith said she didn't have time or she'd miss her set.
The poster suggested she just leave the drink and buy something at the festival instead. Faith said she didn't have money for that. The argument escalated from there. The poster said it wasn't fair to the rest of the group and that drinking that much alone was not a good idea. Faith insisted she would be fine and said, "she would throw out what she couldn't finish." The poster told her they had paid for it and she could either finish it or pay them back for the bottle. Faith said fine and stormed off.
A little later, Faith texted that she had passed out during a set and was in the festival's med tent. The group wasn't there yet, but told her they were on the way and checked to make sure she was okay. Faith said she was fine, only needed an IV, and couldn't leave until they got there. Then she got upset that they weren't arriving fast enough and blamed the poster, saying it was their fault she drank the whole bottle.
The poster said that was ridiculous, since everyone had warned against it and Faith had still chosen to do it. After that, Faith stopped texting.
By the time the group reached the med tent, Faith ignored the poster for the rest of the festival. That night, the poster tried again, apologizing for not being "there for her" and for pressuring her into drinking it all, after Faith had told the others the poster "wasn't there for her during her traumatic experience." Faith rolled over in bed and kept watching TikTok. Now she isn't talking to the poster, but is telling the friends that the poster refused to take responsibility and abandoned her.
