The hospital room was supposed to stay quiet. Instead, a wife's location pinged her mother straight to the surgery floor.
A man says his wife shares her location with her family, and sometimes with friends, while he refuses to do the same because he does not want to be "tracked 24/7." That system held until earlier this week, when he needed surgery and wanted the whole thing kept private. He did not even tell his own mom and dad. His wife agreed, at least for that day, that she would not share it with anyone either.
Then Monday came, and so did the trouble.
The surgery itself went "overall well," but while he was dealing with the operation, his wife's mother apparently checked the location app and realized her daughter was at a hospital. She called when her daughter did not answer. About an hour later, right after the surgery was done, the mother showed up in person.
She thought her daughter was hurt.
That one visit opened the floodgates. What had been meant to stay between the couple suddenly became a family event.
