A married man went to bed naked, got up a little later, and found skid marks and "a little bit of shit on the sheets." His wife saw it. He has been spiraling ever since.
"Basically what the title says," he wrote, opening a post that immediately narrowed the mystery: this wasn't a story about illness, mystery stains, or some long-running problem. It was about one disastrous night, a toilet visit, and a bed that ended up with evidence in it.
According to the poster, the couple sometimes sleeps naked. About a week ago, after using the toilet and heading to bed, he later got up to discover the damage. There were skid marks on the sheets and, in his words, "a little bit of shit on the sheets." The wife noticed too. She "didn't make a big deal out of it," but the poster says that has done nothing to calm him down.
Instead, he's been left horrified and embarrassed. He says he is "normally perfectly capable of wiping my own ass," and insists he has "Never left the slightest skid marks anywhere ever before..." He says he doesn't understand how it happened.
What bothered him most was not just the mess, but the reaction he expected from his wife. "My wife says everything's fine," he wrote, but he could not shake the feeling that she must be disgusted. He added, "I really don't know how to continue with my embarrassment and looking for some advice on that?"
As replies started coming in, he pushed back hard against any suggestion that this was a basic hygiene issue. In an edit, he wrote, "I know I'm probably not in the best spot to say this right now but I swear I'm normally perfectly capable of basic hygiene." He explained that under normal circumstances he showers right after wiping, and "In the middle of the night I use wet wipes..." For him, this was not routine carelessness. "This was a once in a lifetime malfunction," he wrote.
The practical fix arrived quickly. The poster said he had "already ordered a bidet."
But the emotional fallout was still the main event. One night, one accident, one bed sheet later, he was left staring at a mess he could not explain and a wife who, at least on the surface, said everything was fine.
