Cosmo came running up the driveway at the end of June, tiny and sick, and the sight of him stopped everything. He was only about 8 or 9 weeks old, weighed around 2 pounds, and was already carrying "the worst case of ringworm our vet had ever seen."

At first, the rescue was all urgency. Cosmo was so small he seemed almost impossible to believe standing there in the open, having just appeared out of nowhere and run straight up the driveway. The poster later wrote, "Cosmo has come SUCH a long way," and said that looking back at the old pictures "still blows my mind."

The treatment started immediately and kept going for weeks. Cosmo went through 27 medicated baths, one after another, along with seven weeks of oral treatment. There was much more care on top of that, too, "lots and lots and LOTS" of it, according to the post. Each step was part of getting him through a case so severe the vet had never seen one worse.

The old photos make the change hard to process. Back then, Cosmo looked like a fragile little foundling with a big medical problem. Now, the difference is so complete the poster says, "you'd never know."

That's the heart of the transformation: the same cat who once ran up the driveway as a 2-pound kitten covered in ringworm is now the one in the finished photos, with no sign of the ordeal that came before. The before-and-after is so dramatic that even the person who lived it still pauses over the old pictures, amazed at how far he's come.
