A TINY KITTEN WAS FOUND FROZEN TO A

A tiny kitten was found frozen to a piece of plastic in the woods, too young to free herself and meowing for help.

Me and my kids were out exploring the fallen snow in the woods when they heard it first: a cat crying out, over and over, as if something was very wrong. Following the sound, they came upon a random hunk of plastic tucked into the snow. Under it was a kitten, barely more than a handful of fur. She was hiding there for shelter, but the shelter had turned into a trap.

"She was COMPLETELY covered in ice," the poster wrote. Her fur had stuck to the side of the plastic thing she was under, "so she couldn't move." The kitten was tiny, maybe 3 to 4 weeks old, and the sight of her, frozen in place, made the rescue feel urgent.

They got her free, brought her home, and started the slow work of thawing her out. Warmth came first, then food. "We've been warming her up and feeding her, she's so happy now," the poster said later. Once safe indoors, the little cat began to perk up.

The family named her Elsa.

But the rescue didn't end at the front door. The poster went back to the woods looking for signs of a mother cat or any other kittens. They returned to the spot twice. Nothing turned up. They planned to check again the next day, just in case the rest of the litter was nearby.

For now, Elsa stayed separated from the household's other cats. The poster said they planned to take her to a vet as soon as the weather allowed. In the meantime, she was warm, fed, and no longer alone in the snow.

Then the post itself took off. "WOW, I have never had a post blow up on Reddit before, this is crazy!" the poster wrote. They said a lot of people told them it was nice to see something positive during a rough time, and added, "This precious kitten definitely did that for us!"

The comments kept coming, and so did the photos. The poster later said they made an update post with more pictures, after people asked for them. In one of the updates, they added one more detail about the new arrival: "I was adamant we wouldn't go above 3 cats in the house again, but this one just feels like it was meant to be ours ❤️"
