THE RUN CLUB ACCUSATION
A man is accused of stalking after a routine of casual meetups at a run club, leaving both parties bewildered as the line between friendship and fear blurs.

He mentioned a run club once, and the next week a girl he'd barely met accused him of stalking her for showing up there.
Two months earlier, the poster had met her at a social gathering he'd been invited to by a friend. He did not know how she ended up there, but they talked for a bit. During that conversation, she brought up a friends group and invited him to join.
He did.
When he started showing up, she seemed pretty happy he was there. The two of them ended up talking just about every time they both attended the group, and for a while that was the pattern: friendly chats, familiar faces, nothing else.
Then came a house party a week before Christmas. They talked on and off there too, and at some point the poster mentioned a run club he goes to.
The next week, she showed up at that same run club.
Then she came back again.
And again.
For a few weeks, she kept appearing at the club the poster had mentioned in passing.
About half a week ago, the two crossed paths again at the friends group she had originally invited him into. This time, she pulled him aside and accused him outright. She said he was "following/stalking her" because he was going to the run club he had told her about.
According to the poster, she spoke very seriously and told him, "I hope this isn't going to be a problem".
He did not argue back. He did not try to explain. He just froze, confused by what she was saying and why she was saying it now.
After that, he spent the rest of the gathering trying to stay away from her.
At one point, while he was talking with a close friend he'd made through the group, she came over and more or less inserted herself into the conversation. She kept trying to engage him directly. He kept his eyes away from hers and gave one-word answers.
When the friend eventually left, so did he.
What began as a normal chain of invites and casual conversations had turned into an awkward accusation over a run club, with both sides now apparently looking at the same routine and seeing something very different.
