The marriage ended the moment a forehead went shiny again.
A husband says he caught his wife resuming Botox and filler after promising twice she would stop, and after the third round, he told her he was filing for divorce. The fight was never just about cosmetics, he says. It was about her repeatedly agreeing to stop, then secretly going back.
He says he has always loved her face as it was. "I love her face, her expressions, smile lines...all of it," he wrote. In his view, the treatments changed her appearance in a way he couldn't ignore: "the puffiness, shiny/paralyzed forehead, and overall fake look are a major turn off for me." He says he told her exactly that and made clear he did not like the effect.
She initially said she understood. According to him, she agreed and swore she would not do any more.
Then, about six months later, he noticed the change creeping back in her forehead. He confronted her. He says she "instantly got defensive, said I cant tell her what to do, etc." The two later had a longer discussion, and he says she came around again. "She saw my point and would stop....4 months later I get the big F U," he wrote.
That next time, he says, he saw the same look return. When he asked about it, she first tried to explain it away. "She initially tries to say a mask tightened her skin...which I knew was BS," he wrote. After that, he says, she got defensive again.
At that point, he says, he was done.
"I told her I was done, she absolutely can do whatever she wants to her face, but I don't have to watch it," he wrote. He says he is filing for divorce tomorrow.
What pushed him over the edge, he says, was not only the treatments themselves but the pattern around them. "the behavior behind it is even more concerning, with the secrecy and lying," he wrote. He added that in a marriage, "we should consider each other's feelings in our actions."
By his telling, the issue started with a face he loved, moved through two promises to stop, and ended with a divorce announcement after the third secret return.
