THE HIDDEN CHARGERS
A parent's routine cleanup uncovers a hidden empire of chargers scattered through a teen's room, turning a dying phone into a surprising domestic mystery.
Was this a parent problem or a hiding problem?

The dead phone wasn't the problem. The chargers were.
"Apparently, I don't buy chargers," the poster said, as if this had somehow become the accusation in the house. Their daughter's phone was always dying, and the complaint had landed squarely on the parent. But then came the cleanup.
The room had to be straightened up for new window treatments, so the poster went in and started moving things around. What turned up was not a shortage of chargers, but a small hidden empire of them.
There was one under the bed.
Another was tucked behind the mirror.
One turned up in the laundry basket.
Another was shoved behind the dresser.
And that wasn't all. The poster said there were chargers hidden "and so on," the kind of detail that suggests the search kept going long after the first few discoveries made the point. Chargers were not missing from the house. They were simply not where anyone would expect to find them.
So the daughter's phone kept dying for a much simpler reason: the chargers were scattered all over the room, stashed away instead of left out where they could actually be used. The parent blamed for not buying them had, in fact, found more than enough. They were just buried, tucked, and hidden in every corner of the room while the phone stayed on empty.
