A wife discovers her husband gifted away an expensive Japan sake and an unopened German wine to friends after she forbade it, testing trust and boundaries.

She came home to find her Japan sake and a friend's German wine gone, both finished off by her husband's friends after she had told him, "a million times," not to share either bottle.
Two months earlier, the poster had returned from Japan with an expensive bottle of sake she had picked out after a tasting class. She was not much of a drinker, but she chose one she genuinely liked, and one she knew her husband would enjoy too. It was meant to be a "for us" bottle, something a little special from the trip.
She also had an unopened bottle of German wine that a friend had gifted her three months before.
From the start, her husband kept asking whether he could give the sake to his father, his cousin, or his friends. Every time, she said no. She says she made it clear the bottle was sentimental as well as a souvenir, and that she wanted to keep it between them.
He got one chance to drink it with her. The poster opened the sake once, and he declined because he had a headache. She had about 20 ml, put the bottle away, and left the rest untouched.
Then, three days before she posted, she was out of the house while he had friends over after a pub night. She did not think he would touch either bottle. They had, in her words, discussed it "a million times."
The next day, she asked where the sake was.
Her husband said he had shared both the sake and the unopened wine with his friends, and they finished everything.
When she challenged him, he said he had "forgot" she had told him not to give it to anyone, and said he "doesn't remember unimportant stuff." She pointed out that she had also given him a bottle of whisky specifically meant for his friends after her trip, so there was no reason to raid her bottles.
He did not leave it there. He flipped the argument back on her, told her, "Don't let it spoil our relationship," and suggested she see a counselor. She said he dismissed the whole thing as "not a big deal."
In an edit, she added: "Sincere apologies."
She posted asking whether she was the asshole for being furious that he gave away the sake and wine after being told repeatedly not to.
