She quit over pizza.

The whole place was supposed to be the easy gig: a salt production facility where the job, as the poster put it, was basically, "You had one job. Put salt into a bag." It paid better than average for the area, came with music, solid benefits, and a schedule that made it a good job to keep.

That's what makes the story so wild. The poster was still stunned by it when they told it to Reddit, saying, "I am still shocked by this." Their husband had brought the incident back up, and the memory was apparently too strange to let go.

At the center of it was a part-time worker named Sues, around 63 years old, who only worked Monday through Wednesday. Everyone else knew the rhythm of the place. The company had been doing well, so management ordered pizza as a reward for the high numbers.

But the pizza was handed out on Thursday.

That detail set everything off. Sues heard about the pizza party on Monday and got furious, because, as the poster explained, "she doesn't work that day." She took the complaint to HR and argued that it was unfair to serve pizza on a day she wasn't there. Then she made her position clear: "if they didn't serve pizza that Wednesday she would quit."

Wednesday came. There was no pizza.

So Sues did exactly what she said she would do. She turned in her two-week notice and walked toward the exit over a missed pizza lunch.

The resignation did not last as neatly as the threat. Near the end of those two weeks, Sues still had not found another job. She went back to HR and asked if she could stay after all. HR said no.

That was the end of it. The poster said the last they heard, Sues had to move back to her hometown on the other side of the country.

"She literally quit over pizza," the poster said.

And that, somehow, is the whole story: a well-paid, easy factory job, a reward meant to celebrate good numbers, and a worker who drew a hard line at a Wednesday slice that never came.
