A woman at a park grabbed an eight-year-old boy's arm hard, and by the time the police finished sorting out what happened, she was the one in handcuffs.

The boy was "Marcus", not his real name, and the man carrying him was not a stranger. He was the best friend of Marcus's mother, a woman he had known since middle school. The two had been friends for forty years. Her husband and she had a child late in life, and the poster had been in the boy's life since hours after birth.

By his own account, he was the kind of giant who stood out anywhere: 6' and 300 pounds, Hispanic, built like an oilfield worker, with grown kids of his own and a wife who liked having Marcus around. On his off weeks, he said, he was the go-to babysitter.

That afternoon at a park near his house, Marcus did not want to leave.

So the poster chased him down, scooped him up, and threw him over his shoulder while the boy struggled and giggled. That was when a woman stepped in.

She told him to put the child down and said she had already called the cops. Then she grabbed Marcus by the arm. The poster says he told her to let him go or "we would be having a physical confrontation." He later summarized it another way, saying he was going to get physical with her.

Marcus slipped behind him after that, and the three of them waited for police. The woman kept filming him on her phone.

When officers arrived, they separated everyone. The poster had already called his wife, and she got there while police were still trying to reach Marcus's parents, who were away for the weekend.

Then the wife began showing the officers an album filled with photos of the poster and Marcus over the last nine years. She also pointed out the bruise on Marcus's arm where the woman had grabbed him.

The officers arrested the woman.

"Handcuffs and everything," the poster wrote.

He says he does not know what happened after that, "No clue what happened after that", and he came online with the question still hanging in the air: "How could I have done better?"
