At a raw bar, a pregnant woman got told she could not eat there, and then the server kept digging.

She was 34 weeks pregnant and meeting a friend and her husband after work for oysters and beer. She could not have either, but she was happy to come along. She arrived a few minutes after the others, right as the server was greeting the table.

The first thing the server said was, "I see you waddling up, you can't eat here!" The poster laughed it off and said she was just there to hang out.

Then the drinks and food conversation started. The husband talked with the server about the oyster selection, and the poster joined in because she usually handled oyster orders in her own household. A few years earlier, she had introduced her husband to oysters, and she knew the different types and regional flavor differences better than he did. He usually picked the beers; she usually picked the oysters.

So when the table started discussing what to order, she told him which oysters she thought he would like. The server seemed annoyed and called her "bossy." The poster ignored it and ordered the oysters for her husband anyway, without saying anything else about the table's food.

After the first round arrived, the husband wanted more oysters. He asked the poster to tell the server which ones he liked so he could get more. She did exactly that.

That's when the server got more pointed. Looking very annoyed, the server said the poster was "pushing him around" and then added, "I hope you come back when you're not pregnant so I can get to know the real you."

The poster snapped.

She asked, "Would you like us to order less?"

That ended the conversation. The server went quiet and walked away. A different server took over for the rest of the night.

Later, the poster said she thought the server had been out of line. But she also wondered whether pregnancy hormones had made her overreact, and whether she should have just treated the comments like harmless clowning instead of snapping back.

The friend said the poster had been in the right. The husband said it was not worth engaging in.
