Friendship Fallouts·
FIRE IN THE KITCHEN
Two close friends mock a passionate home cook online, sparking a public feud as she defends her craft and questions the cost of roasting someone's kitchen.
Was her reaction too far, or fair?

She woke up to a Facebook post from both of her closest friends mocking her cooking, saying it looked like it was meant for "starving orphans." That was the last straw, and when she told them to get fucked, they turned around and called her the dramatic one.
The poster is 29 and says cooking is one of her biggest joys. She makes food from scratch all the time: tofu, chicken, soup, sausage, Asian dishes, Mexican food, Italian meals, Christmas cookies, and plenty of other treats. She even makes her own tofu from raw soybeans. For chalupas, she makes her own fry bread and toppings because Taco Bell's are "$7 each (wtf Taco Bell)."
She says she loves feeding people, but there's one part of that joy that keeps getting ruined: her two closest friends, ages 21 and 25, keep trashing her food anytime it's not basically chicken tenders.
The insults have been blunt and repeated. When she made chicken gnocchi soup, one friend said it "looks like it has bugs in it." When she made tofu stir fry, the other said it "looks like poop from a butt." She says they know this bothers her and keep doing it anyway.
She also noted that she once got the 21-year-old to try tofu, but not the same dish she was posting about here. That didn't seem to change much.
Then came the Facebook post.
On the day in question, the poster opened social media to find both friends publicly mocking her food together. The post, she says, basically framed her cooking as something only "starving orphans" would want. Instead of keeping the ridicule private, they put it out in front of other people.
At that point, she stopped holding back. She told both of them to get fucked.
Now the two friends are saying she overreacted, and that she's the dramatic one. The poster, meanwhile, is left with the same question a lot of people would have after getting roasted like that online: if they keep insulting her food to her face and then drag it onto Facebook, what exactly were they expecting her to say back?
