A neighbor tried to claim a German homeowner's driveway as her own, and ended up escorted off the property after calling the cops on herself.
The trouble started after the poster and their wife bought a house in a German village this January, taking over a bigger corner lot from an 87-year-old seller. The neighbors nearby were friendly enough. There were barbecues, casual socializing, the kind of easy village contact that made the place feel settled.
But the lawn kept becoming a parking spot.
According to the poster, people had already been driving onto the grass, with "all 4 wheels on the grass," as they put it, basically "parallel parking" on the yard. After a quick tow, the poster said, that problem got "fixed that for good."
Not everyone took the hint.
Before this confrontation, the poster says they tried speaking directly to some people living a street down the road after those people parked on the property during "a party." The response was not friendly. They told the homeowner to "suck a big rooster" and, in effect, to live with their guests parking on the lawn.
Then came the doorbell.
While working from home, the poster heard a knock and found "Karen" standing at the door, speaking in a condescending tone. She asked, "Who's car is in the driveway blocking it."
The poster answered plainly: "it's mine."
Karen then explained she was from the same group as the earlier partygoers and demanded that the homeowner move their car. She said she wanted to park in the driveway because she couldn't find a good spot on the road.
When asked why she thought she could just park there, Karen doubled down. She said the previous owner "hadn't had a car and never noticed that she parked there." Because she always did that, the poster should make room, or she would call the cops.
The poster's response was short: "pound sand."
They shut the door in her face.
Karen followed through on her threat and called the police. But the situation, as the poster described it, was "resolved quite easily." Police removed Karen from the property.
Later, the poster summed up the whole exchange with the kind of disbelief that only gets sharper the more specific it becomes: "The audacity of these folks is just astonishing." And, with the image now firmly in place, another line from the post landed like a caption for the whole scene: "the brazeness is so bloody funny."
