THE DUMBBELL TOWER

A gym's routine centers on a man who stacks a dumbbell tower to film himself, turning the rack into a personal stage and forcing others to navigate around him.

Should he keep using half the rack?

Half the dumbbell rack disappears every day for one man's flexing video.

At this gym, the same scene keeps playing out: a guy arrives and builds a dumbbell tower, stacking equipment into a setup that swallows up space for everyone else. He does it not to lift in the usual way, but to film himself flexing. The poster summed it up bluntly: "Guy at my gym builds a dumbbell tower every day just to record himself flexing."

The problem isn't just the spectacle. The setup takes over half the dumbbell rack, turning a shared piece of equipment into his personal filming stage. And he doesn't rush through it. He stays there for hours.

That means anyone trying to work around him has to navigate the same obstacle again and again. The poster says he is "damn near impossible to avoid," which makes the whole routine even more grating: he isn't popping in for a quick recording and leaving. He settles in.

The oddest part is who never steps in. Staff see it happen, day after day, and still don't say a word. "Staff doesn't say a word...," the poster wrote, laying out the silent backdrop to the whole thing.

So the gym has settled into a strange rhythm. The dumbbell tower goes up. The flexing starts. Half the rack stays blocked. Hours pass. Staff say nothing. And everyone else who came to work out has to thread around one man's repeated production, whether they want to or not.
