SKELETON CAKE MISREAD

A birthday cake meant to feature a skeleton head came back from the bakery as something else entirely.

That was the mismatch one parent posted after ordering a cake for their son's birthday. The request sounded straightforward enough: the child wanted a skeleton head on top of the cake. To make sure the bakery knew exactly what he meant, he drew a little picture and handed it over.

"My son wanted a skeleton head on his birthday cake," the parent wrote. "He drew a little picture that we gave to the bakery."

The instructions were repeated clearly. "We told the bakery we wanted it to be a skeleton head," the parent said.

Then the cake arrived.

Instead of the skeleton head the family had asked for, the finished cake looked noticeably different from the drawing they'd provided. The post showed the comparison as a side-by-side moment of expectation versus reality, ending with the caption, "this is what we received 😂"

The son's tiny sketch had been the guide. The bakery had taken it, baked the cake, and decorated it into whatever interpretation made it to the box. But it wasn't the skeleton head the family had imagined.
