FRIDGE PARTHENON WARS

A tiny Parthenon on the fridge has become a family battlefield, and every time someone tries to "fix" it, the mother flips it right back.

The dispute is over a magnet showing the Greek landmark, but the argument is about orientation: the mother insists there is one "correct way to rotate this fridge magnet of the Parthenon," and she treats that judgment as settled law. If anyone straightens it, she simply changes it again.

The speaker says the father stopped fighting this years ago. At some point, he gave up trying to make the magnet stay the "right" way around and let it be.

The brother, however, has not fully surrendered. The speaker notes, "My father gave up fixing it years ago, my brother still holds onto hope." That hope lives on in the background of a very small, very stubborn domestic standoff: one family member keeps turning the magnet, another keeps turning it back, and the rest have learned to live with the contradiction.

Then the post gets an edit, and the mother gets a new audience.

After seeing the comments, the speaker reports that "My mother found several of your comments very funny." The debate doesn't end there, but it does soften. The mother is now willing to admit the magnet "might have been upside down," which is as close as this case gets to a confession.

Still, even with that concession, she hasn't changed her preference. She says she prefers it as it is now, "she prefers the way it looks this way 🙃", and the magnet remains on the fridge in the version she likes best.

So the Parthenon stays put, the father stays retired from the fight, the brother keeps hoping, and the mother keeps winning every round by a single, silent flip.
