Some teens kicked in a door late last night, then left behind a busted frame, a hole in the wall, and a repair bill no insurance would touch.
According to the poster, the incident started with what the teens later described as a "prank." They kicked on the door "to wake us up as a 'prank'," the poster said. But the hit went too far. The door was struck hard enough to bust the frame, and when it gave way, it swung wide open.
The damage didn't stop there. The impact left a hole in the wall beside the door, turning a bad joke into a real repair job. The poster called the police after the teens kicked in the door, and as of the update, they were still waiting to hear back.
For the moment, the door had to be boarded up so it would not "freely swing open and closed." That temporary fix kept the opening from moving around, but it also made plain how badly the entrance had been damaged.
Then came the financial gut punch. "The cherry on top is our insurance won't cover it :/" the poster wrote. So beyond the broken frame and wall damage, the cost of fixing it would have to be handled without help from the policy.
What began as a late-night knock ended with a destroyed door, a hole in the house, a call to police, and a repair bill left hanging. The teens may have meant it as a prank, but the result was a busted entryway that had to be boarded shut.
