A college roommate asked a 23-year-old man to disappear from his own apartment for a day, and even find somewhere else to sleep, because her mother was coming over.

The man lives with two female roommates, including Sana, and says the three of them have shared the place for more than a year without any problems. That changed when Sana said her conservative, religious mom was visiting that weekend. According to the poster, Sana explained that her mother did not approve of her daughter living with male roommates, and she wanted him completely out of the apartment for the day.

He refused.

He said he had a major assignment due, worked best from home, and didn't want to pack up and leave the place he pays equal rent for just because he was someone Sana's mom didn't know. But he didn't just say no and stop there. He предложed a compromise: he would stay in his room all day, keep quiet, and not come out, as long as he could briefly leave to make lunch or dinner, or have food brought to him.

Sana wasn't having it.

She rejected the compromise and insisted he be out of the apartment entirely. Her reason, he said, was simple: if her mother found out a guy lived there, she would "freak out," and it would create family drama. The poster repeated that he understood Sana's position, but said he would not leave his own home, especially with a big deadline hanging over him.

The apartment turned cold after that. Sana stayed upset with him and vented to the other roommate, who, according to the poster, stayed neutral and said she could see both sides.

Then came the edit, and the story shifted.

The poster added that Sana never chose to have male roommates in the first place. He said she had been "practically bullied out" of her previous all-female apartment after a conflict involving another girl, and that this current place was her last resort. After reading comments, he said, his perspective changed.

He wrote that he wanted to be kinder and more understanding, and said, "I will also be going home and asking a friend if I can stay over for a day."

He also said he would talk to Sana properly and encourage her to speak with her mother. His closing thought was softer than his first stance: "One day isn't the end of the world and if it helps her, I've realised Id be happy to do it."
