A stray cat hurls itself at a couple, derailing a routine errand as they race to the vet, name her Brenda, and welcome a loud, lovable new roommate.

The cat came running off the street meowing her head off, and by the end of the morning she had a name, a vet visit, and a new home.
What started as a simple trip to the car turned into a classic cat distribution system moment. The wife stepped outside to get in the car when a little cat suddenly charged up to her from the street, loud and determined, as if she had a destination in mind. The poster later summed up the scene exactly: "this little gremlin comes running up to her off the street meowing her head off."
Instead of slipping back into the day, the wife found herself pulled into the cat's orbit. The cat was affectionate from the start, and the attention was immediate enough that the whole errand changed course. "Suddenly wife's on a side quest to the vet," the poster wrote.
At the vet, the mystery cat got a proper checkup. The update came back straightforward: "Mange, but otherwise healthy, meds provided." That was the main issue. Otherwise, the cat was in decent shape.
There was one more unanswered detail, though: nobody knew how old she was. The poster joked that she was "no idea on age, either 24 weeks or 24 years." Her age stayed a mystery, but her personality did not.
The cat, now named Brenda, was described as intensely loving and impossible to ignore. She wanted contact constantly, leaning in with "SUPER lovey-affectionate and desperate for attention, intense nuzzles anytime you get near her." She also had a lot to say. "Also SUPER yappy. Mile-a-minute mewin'," the poster said.
By the time the vet visit was over, the little street cat had already made her presence known in every possible way: by running up to a stranger, demanding attention, getting treated for mange, and filling the place with noise.
The poster closed the update with the kind of line that made the whole thing feel complete: "Cat distribution system strikes again." Brenda had arrived out of nowhere, and she arrived loudly.
