THE WOBBLY SHELF

The shelves were already built when the mistake hit: the support studs on the top and middle levels were facing the wrong way, and a chunk of space had vanished with them.

"Shoud've turned the support studs in between shelves in top and middle shelves just like the bottom one," the poster wrote, after realizing what went wrong. The difference was only "3,4 inch," but it added up fast. The layout that had looked fine in the moment suddenly felt like a bad trade, usable room gone, and nothing to show for it but a wrong turn in the build.

Then came the bigger problem. It wasn't just one shelf. "Every shelves leveling is off," they wrote, and the wobble showed up one section at a time. The first shelf still seemed acceptable. "First one I felt good about," they said. But the second and third were not landing the way they should. "2nd and 3rd are like off left and right."

That was the part that made the whole thing sting. The work had already been done, but now the poster could see the unevenness across all of it. The studs, the spacing, the leveling, all of it had to line up, and it hadn't. In the middle of the frustration, they admitted exactly what should have happened before the build went too far: "I should've thought more carefully before doing it."

But there was no energy left to fix it. "And I'm tired af I don't even want to think about re-doing it," they wrote. The shelf project had crossed from annoying to miserable, and the idea of taking it apart and starting over felt worse than living with the mistake.

By the end, the post turned into a blunt stream of exhaustion and self-criticism. "Damn I really hate myself," the poster said, before pointing at the thing that made the whole mess feel even more ridiculous: the online tutorials. "Why is it shorts and yt vids look so easy but when I do it I always mess up and takes a really long time."

Then came one last resigned "Sigh."
