A person inherits a phone number tied to a sex worker's past, triggering months of relentless messages and calls from repeat customers, until they contemplate changing their number.

For three months, a phone has not stopped ringing for the wrong reason.
The number belonged, as the poster put it, to "a prostitutes old phone number," and the calls and texts that followed came fast, constant, and unmistakably aimed at someone else. Men kept contacting the number asking for "******," a prostitute the poster says is listed on "many MANY websites."
By the time the poster shared the screenshots, the flood had already become absurd. "Its been 3 months now," they wrote, and in that span they had received "well over 500+ text messages and 200+ phone calls." The images they posted were only a slice of it: "these screen shots are from the past month," they explained, adding that they had been "actively deleting twice as many the same month smh..."
The pattern was familiar enough to be almost routine. Random numbers would light up the phone. Texts would arrive asking for the same person. Calls would keep coming in. And then more. According to the poster, the "majority of them are returning customers lmao." These were not one-off wrong numbers. A lot of them had been there before.
The messages themselves were the kind you'd expect from people hunting for an escort by name, though the poster only described them in shorthand, saying they were asking for "******." The whole thing, they said, had turned into a bizarre side effect of inheriting a phone number that had a history attached to it.
At this point, the poster said they were "about to change my phone number." Even so, they didn't sound defeated. Their verdict on the experience was simple: "annoying yet hilarious lmao."
And they had one small tactic for the repeat offenders. In a P.S., the poster said that sometimes they answer the messages with "very awkward gifs," and that it "usually stops the madness."
So the number keeps ringing, the texts keep coming, and the new holder of the line keeps deleting them as fast as they arrive, one more reminder that some phone numbers come with a past that won't stay quiet.
