CAMILLA'S REPEAT NAME
In Florida's air-conditioned baby circuits, one name keeps popping up among dozens of toddlers, prompting a group to compare notes and uncover a single repeated identity.

At babytime, the same name kept surfacing again and again, and out of dozens of babies, it was the only one.
The poster had been doing "the whole library/babytime/music group rigamarole" to "beat the heat" and get out of the house without spending money. In Florida, that meant spending time around a parade of "6m-2 year olds," meeting baby after baby after toddler after toddler.
And yet, across all of it, there was only one name that repeated.
"Dozens+ of babies," the poster wrote, and "only one name has been repeated at all": Camilla, nickname Cammie.
That was the pattern they noticed while moving through the free, air-conditioned circuit of library events and kid gatherings. No endless parade of Noahs or Emmas, no stacked-up class roster of the same popular picks. Just one: Camilla.
To make sure it wasn't just their own sample, the poster turned the question outward. They asked other people who spend their days around young children what names they keep hearing over and over. In the same breath, they sketched the roster they'd expected to see, "Sam L, Sam B, Sam H...etc", the kind of overlap that usually turns up once a bunch of families are in the same room.
Instead, the answer from their own Florida baby circuit was a single repeated name, and a specific one at that: "Camilla (nn Cammie)."
The poster ended by inviting others in the same world of strollers, snacks, singalongs, and library carpets to compare notes: "If you're around a lot of young kids, what name are you hearing on repeat?"
For now, though, their own count stayed the same. One region, one baby-heavy routine, dozens of children, and one name that kept reappearing while all the others stayed distinct.
