A neighbor dumped storm debris into the wrong driveway, then showed up months later and got shot three times anyway.
The mess started in May 2024, after a major storm tore through the area and left fallen trees and light poles behind. The poster and others spent the cleanup dragging limbs out of the way, stacking them on the curb by the driveway, and using a different driveway so street traffic wouldn't be blocked. Across the street lived a neighbor with three driveways and an 18-wheeler, and the poster says the man had already been a constant problem, complaining when company came over, yelling when a vehicle sat outside the gate, and demanding access to the poster's driveway so he could turn into his own property.
Then the calls started. Police contacted the poster and said the neighbor was accusing them of tossing his wood trash back into his yard. The poster denied it.
Not long after, the neighbor loaded storm debris into his truck and dumped it in the poster's main driveway. Cameras caught it, the poster says, and police were called again. Officers tried to talk to the neighbor, but he stayed inside his house. The poster says a report was made, though later they couldn't find the record.
The same day, the neighbor's truck appeared behind the poster while they were driving. The poster says they were nearly boxed in, so they headed toward the police station. Near a downed telephone pole and a police vehicle, the poster pulled over and explained what had happened. The neighbor arrived too, got out arguing, and an officer told him to "get the fuck back." The poster left, saying the officer handled the situation.
About 30 minutes later, the neighbor pulled in front of the poster's house and said he was going to "fucking kill me." The poster filed another report at the station, this time with a witness.
By August 2, the tension had only stacked up. The poster came home, parked in another driveway because the main gate was closed and they didn't have the remote, and then the neighbor pulled his 18-wheeler in directly behind the truck. The neighbor stepped onto the property. The poster told him to get back. The neighbor ran toward them, still yelling that he was going to "fucking kill me."
That's when the poster pulled a pistol and fired three times, once in the groin and twice in the arm. The neighbor retreated across the street.
Police arrived and arrested the poster. They were charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, bonded out on $10,000 of a $100,000 bond, and spent four months on 24-hour house arrest. The poster says they paid $20,000 for a lawyer, and the grand jury later no-billed the case. The neighbor's daughter was also caught smashing the poster's truck windows with a bat and went to jail that night.
Even after all that, the friction kept going. Two months ago, the poster was pruning branches and set them in the driveway again. The neighbor came out yelling and recording. The poster shot back, "I bet yo ass won't come on my property again." Police showed up, the poster reminded them the neighbor had already been shot three times, and the neighbor still flicks them off whenever they're outside.
