A moving truck sat across an entire driveway for eight hours, and the people who might have moved it were nowhere to be found.
The trouble started about a month ago, when new neighbors moved in next door. According to the poster, they "run some sort of moving business." Since then, one of their trucks had been "floating around" the poster's side of the street for weeks, like it had become part of the block.
Then, on this day, it stopped being background noise and became a problem. The truck was parked directly in front of the poster's driveway, blocking the whole thing. Not half of it. Not enough to squeeze through. The entire driveway.
The poster checked next door. No one was home.
That left the driveway stuck, the truck unmoved, and the clock ticking. Luckily, the poster was working from home, and their wife had Mondays off, so there was no immediate need to leave. That bought some time, but not much comfort.
As the hours passed, the truck stayed put. By 10:30 p.m., it was still there. The poster was already looking ahead to the next morning, when they had to leave at 4:30 a.m. for a site visit. If the truck was still blocking the driveway then, the poster said they had no idea what to do.
The situation was simple and stubborn: a neighbor's moving truck, a blocked driveway, nobody home to move it, and an early departure looming before sunrise. What started as a parked vehicle had turned into an overnight standoff right outside the house.
