A poster battles a ghosted travel agent and a vanishing reservation, pressing the hotel for answers as a dream trip hangs in the balance.

"I STILL HAVE THE ROOM! The bride and groom were bluffing!!"
That was the headline message when the poster came back with an update on the reservation fight that had set off the whole story. They opened by thanking everyone for the support and said they were reposting so the update would be easier to find.
The new detail: the agent who had been helping them had gone silent. "The agent ghosted me," the poster said, explaining that calls were now going straight to voicemail and emails were getting no reply.
So, following advice from commenters, the poster went around the disappearing middleman and contacted the hotel directly.
There was plenty at stake. The poster said they had prepaid for flight tickets and the hotel reservation, booked time off work, bought a bunch of things for the vacation, arranged transfers between the airport and the hotel, and had already spent roughly $5,000 CAD. The trip was less than two weeks away, and the reservation was non-refundable. That was why they wanted the booking protected.
When they first called the hotel last Friday, staff were able to find the group booking tied to the bride and groom, but not the poster's own reservation. It was enough to keep the question hanging: was the room gone, or just buried in the system?
Today, they tried again.
This time, they reached a helpful employee who did more than just look it up. The employee confirmed the booking, said it could not be canceled, and added a note telling staff not to change it. The poster said the hotel had their back, and the employee even told them to enjoy the trip.
That was the answer the poster had been chasing through voicemail, email, and silence: the room stayed put.
