A wife called her husband at work to say the damage to the monitor was only a little "scratch."
It was not.
By the time he dug into what happened at home, the story had changed completely: their 7-year-old had gotten mad at Roblox, thrown a controller, and hit the monitor hard enough to leave the screen damaged. What had first been described as a tiny blemish was actually the result of a full-on outburst.
The husband was furious, not just about the broken monitor, but about how the damage had been framed. He said his wife kept "sugarcoats" what the child does, turning a real incident into something small and harmless. In his telling, that softening doesn't just blur the facts, it makes discipline harder.
He said he feels blocked every time he tries to correct the child. "I cant even discipline him without her getting in the middle of it or shielding him like I'm so total abusive monster...."
