The bride and groom said they canceled her resort booking because she was "not attending the wedding." The problem was that she had already paid in full for the room.
What started as a destination wedding headache turned into a fight over a vacation reservation, with the trip less than two weeks away. The poster says the booking was arranged through a travel agent as part of the couple's group contract with the resort. Her share covered both flight and hotel, and the reservation sat under her name. She was not just a guest, either: she had originally been in the bridal party.
Then the relationship with the bride and groom unraveled. The poster says she stepped back after "personal conflicts and repeated emotional disrespect," using the phrase "respectfully withdraw as a bridesmaid." She still planned to attend the destination trip as a guest, separate from wedding duties.
According to the post, the bride had already lost six other bridesmaids before removing this one from the wedding party too. After that, communication stopped. The bride allegedly told her she would need to talk to the fiancé instead. The fiancé, the poster says, then made attendance conditional on resolving things with the bride on the bride's terms, and warned her, "do not attempt to show up."
The poster says she took that "with grace" and wished them well, expecting to keep her vacation and skip the wedding events.
Instead, she says the bride and groom retaliated by trying to wipe out her reservation. They reportedly claimed that because she was "not attending the wedding," they had canceled the entire booking. But the poster says the room was paid in full, the invoice and confirmation were in her name, and she was sharing the room with another bridesmaid who was still in the group.
When she contacted the resort, staff said they could see the group reservation, but not the individual bookings. Everything, she was told, was being handled through the travel agent. The poster emailed the agent and was waiting for confirmation, since it was the weekend.
For now, she says she is trying to protect the booking she paid for and avoid any more drama before the trip. "I'm not looking for more conflict, just peace 🌸," she wrote.
