A newly tired couple faces pressure from the wife's parents when they demand the husband wake after weeks of brutal work, prompting the wife to defend his rest.

The husband had finally gotten one real night of sleep, only to have the wife's mother try to march into the bedroom and wake him up.
For three weeks, the husband had been living on brutal hours after a "complete screw up" in a department at work. The couple, both 29 and married for five years, had been dealing with 18-hour days, late nights, and the kind of exhaustion that leaves a person asleep at the table or collapsed on the foot of the bed. The wife said the problems weren't caused by her husband or his team, but they were the ones stuck fixing them, because the mess could have cost the company $50 million.
Then, two nights before the visit, he came home around midnight and gave the update the wife had been waiting for: "they did it and everything is done." He said his boss had given the team a couple of days off. He ate, showered, and went straight to bed.
The next morning, the wife let him sleep.
By noon, her parents arrived.
They noticed his truck outside and asked where he was. The wife told them the truth: he was sleeping. Her mother immediately objected. According to the wife, she said it was "unacceptable" for him to still be asleep after 12:00 with a pregnant wife at home, and demanded that the wife wake him up.
The wife refused. She explained how hard he'd been working and how badly he needed the rest. Her parents kept pushing.
Then the mother stood up and said she would wake him herself.
That was the moment the wife stepped in front of her, blocked her path, and told her parents to leave if they wouldn't respect the request. She said she would not disturb her husband, and she would not let anyone else disturb him either. When they asked if they were being kicked out, she said yes.
Her exact explanation was blunt: "I told my parents if they find it so wrong for my husband to get proper sleep after 3 weeks of barely any sleep they should leave our house because i will not and i refuse to let them wake him up as well." She added, "i will let my husband sleep untill he wakes up himself, i will not disturb him and i will not allow anyone els to disturb him." And if they could not respect that, "if they can't respect my request to leave my husband alone and let him sleep they are no longer welcome."
The fallout came fast. Family members started texting, including the wife's sister and brother, calling her "the ahole" for kicking the parents out. Others sided with the parents, saying they were only worried about the pregnant wife's safety.
In an edit, the wife said the family was close and talkative, so news spread quickly. She also noted that this was their first child, the first grandchild, and the first baby born in the family in 20 years.
