A 15-year-old's first job ended the same day it started, after a manager caught them on their phone checking texts and watching a little TikTok.

The teen, posting about the experience, said they had only been on the job for a short while when they decided to look at their phone. It wasn't a long break, but it was enough. After they got off it, the manager came down on them hard and said, "today is my last day."

That left the poster "really stressed." Their biggest problem wasn't just losing the job, it was figuring out how to tell their parents they had already been fired on day one.

In the original post, the teen asked for advice on how to break the news. They were 15, and this was their first job. They had taken it, they later explained, "because I wanted to." But the first shift had already turned into a disaster.

Hours later, an update appeared. The teen said they had finally told their parents.

"I told my parents hours ago," they wrote, adding that they "was just being dumb" by not updating the post right away. They described the whole thing as a "really stupid mistake of being a dumbass."

Their parents, according to the update, were disappointed. But they did not shut the door on the teen's plans. Instead, they offered to help look for new jobs.

The poster also addressed the comments they had received. Some had been harsh, and they acknowledged that plainly, saying "thats what life is sometimes." They said they had definitely learned from what happened.
