A security camera outside a family home caught a 22-year-old sister sneaking in after a party with another man, and the person who saw it is now wondering whether to tell her boyfriend.
For the past six months, the younger sister has been staying in the guest room while getting ready to move in with her boyfriend of two years. The move was supposed to happen in one week. Instead, last night ended with a late return, a camera alert, and a very awkward discovery.
This morning, the poster checked the motion notifications from the camera outside and saw the sister come home from a party with another guy. At first, there was a small question of whether he had just dropped her off. But the footage answered that quickly: "the camera actually caught him going into the house with her." According to the poster, he was there for 2.5 hours.
That detail changed everything.
The poster says they are "really disappointed" and that they "honestly didn't think she was the type to cheat." What made it worse was where it happened. "It also feels super disrespectful that she'd do this under my roof, bringing some random dude home while my wife, daughter, and I are sleeping here," the poster wrote.
The sister's living arrangement is part of the problem now. She has been staying for free, and the poster says their wife is already not happy about it. "I haven't told my wife yet because she's already not thrilled about my sister staying with us for free, and she's really looking forward to her moving out," the poster said.
Now the poster is stuck between two bad options. If they confront the sister, she might drag out her stay even longer, which the poster says would not be ideal. But staying quiet doesn't feel right either. "I'm not sure what to do," the poster wrote. "But at the same time, I don't feel right just letting this slide."
The original question is simple, but messy: tell the boyfriend or handle it inside the house first? The poster summed it up plainly: "I'm in a tricky spot and could really use some advice." Then came the final ask: "What should I do?"
