BREAKFAST FEUD
An early-morning cook-off spirals into a family feud when a brother refuses to make two breakfasts for his sister's kids, prompting a strained thaw and blame.

The breakfast fight started with two kids and an uncle who refused to be turned into a short-order cook.
A 36-year-old man says his 34-year-old sister moved into his house about two months ago, bringing her two children, ages 7 and 4, after leaving a "really bad relationship." He says he usually gets up early and makes breakfast for himself around 7 or 8 a.m., and when his sister first arrived, he gave her a pass for sleeping late because of the breakup.
But the late mornings kept going. According to him, she sometimes stayed in bed until 1 p.m., and because she wasn't getting up, the kids weren't getting fed by her either. So he started making extra breakfast whenever he cooked for himself, just enough for the children too.
That arrangement lasted only until the kids started objecting to what was on the plate.
One morning, he made huevos rancheros. The kids complained and wanted something else, so he made them pancakes. The next morning, he served breakfast potatoes and eggs. Again, the kids said they wanted something different. After three mornings of this, he says he drew a line.
"I'm no longer cooking 2 different meals for breakfast. If you don't like what I'm making, go ask your mom to get up and do it," he told them.
The children went upstairs to wake their mother, but she still didn't come down until after 1 p.m. By then, the kids were upset and told him he had "refused to feed them."
That's when the house turned from annoying to ugly.
His sister got angry and said the children needed to be fed by a certain time. He says she added remarks he felt were aimed at hurting him on purpose. He snapped back, bringing up her depression and telling her to wake up and take care of her "fu**ing kids" instead of expecting him to do it.
After that, she stopped talking to him and has been giving him the cold shoulder.
Now he says he expects an apology and wants to know whether he was wrong for stopping the double breakfasts after days of being asked to cook two different meals for kids whose mother stayed in bed well past lunchtime.
