Cheating & Betrayal·
THE TESTING DOUBT
A six-month romance is upended when a positive chlamydia test sparks a clash between alleged infidelity and a dormant infection, leaving the partner desperate for a straight answer.
Was this betrayal, or just bad timing?

A girlfriend of six months just tested positive for chlamydia, and now her partner is getting tested too.
That was the blunt opening to a frantic post, followed by the kind of question that turns a medical result into a relationship crisis: did she cheat, or was she carrying it all along?
According to the poster, the positive test came after the girlfriend had recently been on vacation with a friend a couple of weeks earlier. The timing immediately raised suspicion. The poster laid out the facts as they knew them, then asked the internet to take a hard look at the gap between what the test said and what the girlfriend insisted was true.
"She swears she didn't cheat on me and that she wouldn't," the poster wrote. But that wasn't the end of it. The girlfriend's explanation was that chlamydia can be caught without sex, and that it was possible she had been a dormant carrier for six months before anything showed up.
That claim became the center of the post.
The poster did not claim to know what happened. Instead, they wanted a direct answer: "She lying to me?" they asked, before pressing the same point again in a different form. "How likely is it she was a dormant carrier and nothing popped up for 6 months?"
The language kept circling the same two possibilities, betrayal, or a hidden infection waiting in the background the whole time. The poster made clear they were in the middle of the fallout, not looking back on it from a safe distance. "I'm getting tested now," they wrote, as the uncertainty sharpened from suspicion into immediate concern.
The post ended where it began: with confusion. The poster asked plainly, "Please give it to me straight," and admitted, "Don't even know what to think rn."
That was the entire knot. A six-month relationship, a positive chlamydia test, a recent vacation, a denial, and one argument over whether the infection could have been lying low all along. The poster wanted certainty, but all they had was a test result, a vacation timeline, and a partner saying she did not cheat.
