One woman's quiet home becomes a battlefield when a neighbor's envy turns to petty harassment over dogs, fences, and the shared wall, spiraling into escalating accusations and insults.

The neighbor who smiled at a young homeowner for a year turned nasty the moment she learned the house hadn't been bought by the poster's parents.
That revelation changed everything.
The poster, a 27-year-old woman who had bought her own house about a year earlier, says the woman next door, at least in her 60s, started picking fights over the dogs. The complaints didn't make much sense. The dogs were supposedly "coming over to the wall," even though the yard had a 4-foot wall with a 6-foot fence behind it. There was no way for them to get into the neighbor's garden.
The neighbor pushed anyway. She reportedly made false reports to the local dog warden, claiming the dogs' behavior was "inappropriate." When the warden came out, there were no issues. The garden was fully enclosed.
That didn't stop the escalation.
According to the poster, the neighbor began trying to throw saucepans of water at the dogs. The poster said the dogs were being wound up on purpose because the neighbor could see through her own fence. In response, the poster started putting up a fence on her side of the wall so the neighbor would no longer be able to spy in and provoke them.
That same evening, things got even uglier. The neighbor threw another pot of water into the garden and nearly hit the poster. She had also tried to knock down a fence post with a brush. Then came the shouting: the neighbor called the poster stupid and yelled profanity, all while complaining that the partly built fence was a "monstrosity."
The story didn't end there.
In an update, the poster said the dogs were staying at her parents' house while she went away for the weekend, and her brother was house-sitting and finishing the fence. That's when the neighbor came outside again and said something. When the poster asked her to repeat it, the woman shot back: "what are you deaf now!"
The poster replied flatly: "I have a brain tumour don't you know?" She said the neighbor had already been told before.
The neighbor went back inside, then returned about five minutes later with a new complaint: did the poster get permission to build a fence next to her wall?
The poster said the fence was actually six inches away from the closest point of the wall, and added that the wall is shared 50/50 according to the title deeds and checks done by others.
The neighbor came out a few more times after that, grumbling from the sidelines, but the poster said she wasn't paying enough attention to catch every word.
In an edit, the poster said people kept asking whether the dogs bark constantly. Her answer was clear: the neighbor has an issue whether the dogs are home or not.
