Her best friend's husband was deployed when he sent the text that turned everything sideways: he said he was "really attracted" to her.

The poster says the man has "always been a little weird," but this message went far past awkward. He wrote that "it's hard to resist himself around me," then kept pushing. He asked to meet up alone. He asked for pictures. He even asked the poster to message him from an unknown number.

That was bad enough. Then the rest of the picture came into focus.

His wife, the poster's best friend, is due to give birth in a month with their second child. She is already struggling "mentally and financially" and is trying to hold everything together while he is away on military service. The poster says it is hard to look at her knowing what her husband just said.

The two women also work together, which adds another layer to the mess. The poster says they do not want to cause her more pain, especially when she is already carrying so much, but the secret is getting harder to hold. "I feel sick and conflicted," the poster wrote. "I don't want to cause her more pain when she's already dealing with so much. I don't think I can keep this from her."

The confession did not end the post. In an edit, the poster said they had decided they were going to tell her, but now the question was when.

"I am going to tell her," the poster added, while wondering whether to wait until after the baby is born. They said they did not want to "put all that extra stress on her.." especially because "she had a complicated pregnancy the first time."

So the situation landed in a brutal place: a deployed husband sending inappropriate messages to his wife's best friend, a pregnancy just a month from delivery, and a friendship caught between silence and disclosure.

The poster knows the truth cannot stay hidden forever. The only question left is whether to say it now, or wait until after the baby comes.
