A years-long driveway dispute erupts into a weekend standoff when one neighbor blocks the other's driveway and heads out of town, leaving tension and silence in its wake.

For months, a neighbor had been turning the narrator's driveway into his own parking spot.
It wasn't a one-time slip. It kept happening, over and over, until the driveway problem became a running battle. The narrator says they had asked him not to do it many times. Each time, the neighbor brushed it off the same way: "it's just for a sec," followed by a shrug, as if that settled it.
Then last Friday, the neighbor did it again.
The timing was almost perfect. The narrator had just come home and found his car sitting in the driveway. They were also heading out of town for the weekend. Instead of stopping to argue, the narrator made a different decision.
They pulled in behind the neighbor's car.
That meant the driveway was now blocked from both ends. The narrator locked up, grabbed their stuff, and left for the trip, leaving the neighbor's car exactly where it was, stuck in place.
A couple of hours later, the phone started blowing up. The narrator got multiple missed calls from the neighbor, then a text that made the annoyance plain: "dude wtf??"
The narrator didn't answer.
The post doesn't say how long the neighbor sat there, whether he managed to work around the blocked driveway, or what happened after the text. What it does say is that the narrator went out of town for the weekend and let the situation sit there with him.
By the end, the neighbor had the driveway problem he'd been treating like nothing at all, and the narrator was hoping he had a relaxing weekend to think things through.
