THE WINDOW WATCHER

A new neighbor showed up at the door and told the woman inside that she made her feel uncomfortable, because of the way she dressed while cleaning.

The poster had been deep cleaning her house when the knock came. The visitor was a neighbor she had never spoken to before, despite living there for 13 years without any issues. She introduced herself, then went straight into the complaint: "I make her feel uncomfortable."

That caught the poster off guard. So she asked what exactly was making the neighbor uncomfortable.

The answer was not what she expected.

The neighbor said it was "the way I dress while cleaning." The poster looked down at what she was wearing, a sports bra and shorts, and asked if that was what she meant. "She confirms it."

Then the neighbor added the detail that turned the whole exchange: her husband had been watching the poster from their window.

At that point, the poster didn't see the logic in blaming her for being in her own home. She told the neighbor that she should be worried about her husband's behavior instead. If he was standing at the window watching a neighbor clean, that was the problem, not the clothes. She told her, bluntly, to "check her husband."

The neighbor did not take that well. She got angry and wanted to cause a scene.

In a later update, the poster said she had started taking the situation seriously. She notified nearby friends, said her husband would be home that weekend, made a police report, and reached out to the landlord.

The neighbor, meanwhile, was telling other people that the poster had been "rude." The poster said she had barely seen the husband at all except when he was getting into his car. The neighbor, on the other hand, was someone she saw constantly, and the poster said she was "ALWAYS staring."

What started as a routine cleaning day turned into a doorstep confrontation, with one neighbor accusing another of causing discomfort, and the response landing squarely back on the husband watching from the window.
