An hour before she walked down the aisle, the bride learned her brother had skipped her wedding, and had never planned to show up.

The woman, 27, married her husband last April after sending out invitations a full year in advance and reminders six months before the date. Her brother Jacob, 22, was supposed to be part of the day; he had been the ring bearer. Instead, just a week before the ceremony, he told her he wasn't coming because he would be busy with Kelly, his fiancé, and they were going on vacation.

She begged him to come. She stressed how important it was. Their mother stepped in and assured her he would be there.

Then came the gut punch. "I didn't find out until an hour before I walked down the aisle he wasn't there and didn't intend to be," she said. The revelation left her devastated. She needed her sisters and husband to calm her down before the ceremony.

The family tension had been building for years. Jacob is the youngest of four children, and the poster says her parents have always treated him like their "precious gold child." As adults, that dynamic has only gotten worse. She says he acts immature, and Kelly enables him. Kelly, according to the poster, often tells him the family does not appreciate him and should be grateful to have him as a sibling. The parents, meanwhile, say the sisters don't "understand" him and don't give him enough "grace."

When Jacob and Kelly announced their engagement, the poster says she was genuinely happy for him. But things soured again when Jacob later announced their wedding date: May 30 of this year. He emphasized that everyone had to be there. Kelly followed up with a text saying attendance was "MANDATORY."

Now the poster says she's been debating skipping the wedding entirely. "I've been debating skipping his wedding," she wrote, pointing to the fact that she and Kelly do not get along and that her brother did not show up for her own wedding. She mentioned that to her mother, who was furious and told the rest of the family.

Since then, Jacob, Kelly, and their parents have been calling her names for possibly staying home. She says she's been labeled an "asshole, brat, and petty," while her sisters and husband back her choice. "I don't have to go since they didn't go to mine," she said.

Then came a minor update that widened the split. She learned her husband is not invited, and neither is her oldest sister's wife. Kelly reportedly does not want any spouses there because they are "temporary" and doesn't want them in the pictures. After that, the oldest sister decided not to attend.
