The second son had not even arrived yet, and the poster already hated every boy name on planet earth.

"All of them. Hate hate hate," they wrote, laying it out with no cushion at all. Nothing sounded good. Nothing felt right. And with a baby boy on the way, that left one very specific problem: what on earth do you name him?

So the poster did what desperate parents do on the internet, they asked for help, and asked for everything. "Tell me every boy name you have ever liked!!!!" they posted, hoping strangers could throw out options they might have missed. The request came with a little more context: the poster already had a first son named Casey, though they said it was spelled with an alternative spelling to make it feel more masculine. They added that they usually did not gravitate toward unisex names unless those names leaned masculine.

The replies started rolling in, and later the poster came back with an update. They had, by then, "a list of about 15 new names" to try out with their husband. They thanked the people who had offered suggestions, clearly having gotten farther than when they started.

But not every comment stayed serious.

Alongside the real name suggestions, a few people threw in joke answers, "Jimothy," "Starlord," and the like. Those clearly were not meant as earnest baby-name picks. Still, some commenters seemed to take them at face value, prompting a sharp reaction from the poster. "I hope you are not as stupid as you sound," they wrote, annoyed that anyone would read those suggestions literally.

The poster also made one boundary plain: they were not sharing the spelling of their older son's name. When asked, they declined, and later softened just enough to say, "sorry to disappoint but your comments were very entertaining!!!"

So the situation ended where it began, with a parent hunting for a name that felt right, a first son already on the books as Casey, a second son on the way, and a growing shortlist of possibilities pulled from a comment section that managed to be helpful, ridiculous, and a little too literal all at once.
