Was it a strange aircraft or something else?

A green-flashing object over Perth vanished, then reappeared on a different flight path.
On 15 May 2025 at 6:15 p.m., a poster in Perth, Western Australia, says they caught sight of something strange in the sky and took footage only after they got home. Their caption began plainly: "Took this when I got home."
The poster says the object had already done something unusual before the camera ever rolled: "Before recording UFO went VTOL." In other words, it lifted vertically, like a craft switching straight up and away rather than moving across the sky in a normal line.
They say they were not looking from near any obvious place where aircraft might be expected. "I do not live near any airports nor aircraft carriers," they wrote, trying to head off the usual explanation.
What they describe instead is an object that seemed to drift in a way that didn't make sense. "Object was moving strangely while flashing green," the poster said. The light was the clearest feature they could make out, and it kept showing up as the object moved.
Then came the part that made the clip feel even harder to pin down. Near the end, according to the poster, "lights turn off then reappear on a different flight path." One moment the object's lights were gone; the next, they were back somewhere else, now moving in a new direction.
The footage was later shared after the poster says they were "recommended to post this here after posting on r/Perth." The upload also came with a correction of sorts. In the caption, the poster added: "(Captured on Samsung S25, made an error where I didn't upload a video on deleted post)."
So the case rests on a short piece of phone footage, a green light, a vertical rise before recording, and a vanishing act mid-flight. The poster says they were in Perth at 6:15 p.m. on 15 May, and what they saw was unusual enough to bring to the internet for a second look.
