THE VOMIT STANDOFF
A sick day spirals into a power struggle as one partner demands the other clean up a floorful of puke while managing two toddlers and a feverish household.

The vomit hit the floor before the husband even reached the bathroom, and then he walked over and announced that his wife could clean it up.
For days, he had been sick with "a stomach bug of some kind," dealing with vomiting, diarrhea, and nausea. Meanwhile, the poster had been holding down the house alone, caring for him, managing the kids, and juggling "2 under 5" on top of everything else.
That morning, the husband said he wanted to eat. The poster made him toast and brought it to him while he sat on the couch. At the same time, the poster was in the kitchen making breakfast for the toddlers and feeding them. Then came the sound of gagging.
The poster called out a warning: if he thought he was going to throw up, he needed to use the trash can right there or go to the bathroom. He didn't. He vomited all over the floor and got some on the couch.
Then he got up, came into the room where the poster was feeding the children, and said he was going to their room so the poster could clean up his puke.
The poster said no.
They told him to clean it up himself, pointing out that they had already been cleaning up after him all weekend. This time, they said, he had "plenty of time to prepare for this and not make a mess."
The husband did not take that well. He got angry and said the poster was not showing him "a good bedside manner."
The argument didn't end there. In an update, the poster said he spent the day making snide comments, telling them they were "not a good wife" and insisting that anyone who truly cared about a sick loved one would not "punish" them like that.
The poster later showed him the comments, and that "finally shut him up."
They also addressed the obvious worry about the kids. According to the update, "the rest of us are okay." The poster said the husband likely wasn't dealing with a mystery illness at all, but food poisoning from something that had been sitting in his work break room for nearly 24 hours.
What began as a sick day turned into a fight over a puddle of vomit on the living room floor, a refused cleanup, and a husband who wanted his wife to handle the mess after warning him not to make it.
